Cyber Security / IT
The regional cybersecurity sector is anchored by activities at Fort Gordon, the Georgia Cyber Center and the Savannah River Site with multiple corporate entities involved throughout the community.
This growing cyber ecosystem includes workforce training, innovative research and cybersecurity work for government and private industry. While the regional cybersecurity sector is dominated by defense-related activities, the region’s nuclear, manufacturing and healthcare sectors also have cybersecurity needs.
During July 2018, the SRSCRO hosted a Cyber & Education Connections forum in partnership with Augusta University and the Alliance for Fort Gordon. Leaders across the five-county, two-state region gathered to address growing cyber workforce needs of the Georgia/South Carolina region.
